Open Sleeve Tunic

My grand daughter modeling one of my favorite patterns.  

This pattern is also featured on Annie's website and was in the Autumn 2017 issue Crochet Magazine under the title of "Boho Tunic" pg 35

This is the Open Sleeve Tunic pattern that includes sizes from X small to 6X
Looks great as a dress for teens, a top for adults and also a swimsuit cover up.

Finished Length is 28 to 34 inches depending on the size that is made. 

Lion Brand Cotton Yarn Comparison

Just a quick comparison of yarns from Lion Brand

I used Lion Brand 24/7 100% Mercerized Cotton yarn in Aqua and Lion Brand 100% Pure Cotton yarn on this project.

Both are the same pattern
Both are cotton yarns
Both yarns are rated as #4 weight

But, there is a difference.  The 24/7 yarn is much lighter and feels so soft.  The 100% Pure Cotton is MUCH heavier and doesn't drape as nice as the 24/7, but the look of the stitches appeals to me more.

My results with measuring the Wraps per Inch

Lion Brand 24/7 I got 16 WPI
Lion Brand Cotton I got 12 WPI

I love BOTH yarns and will miss their old cotton.  I have used it for many things and for many years.

BUT, I am Very Pleased with the new 24/7 yarns and the colors that are available.  This yarn gave the garment lots of luster and the drape is fantastic.
