working on Peacocks
Someday this might be a curtain. I got the pattern in "150 Favorite Crochet Designs" book and blew up just a small part of a larger pattern for a table cloth.

Great Morning
Spent the morning dyeing up some great wool yarns. Even though I woke up to snow this morning, all melted by 10am, this is when I feel like spring is here. Playing with fresh fleeces and color !

Summer Camp Activities
We have some great items available to use this summer for youth art projects.
Weaving Sticks have been around for a long time and make weaving easy to understand and you can make several different items with them. Easy scarves and belts, sewing a few strips together makes a great purse or if you want a larger project, you can even make a blanket.
Very inexpensive and can be done with any type of yarn.
Lucet is a method of cordmaking or braiding which is believed to date back to the Viking and Medieval periods, when it was used to hang useful items from the belt. Fine cording for clothing and every type of cord including large ropes for their ships were made using a Lucet. Very simple to learn and a great project for people who suffer from arthritis or carpal tunnel (I have both!). It is large enough to fit in your palm loosely and the technique is easy on the hands. Lucet cord can be used in jewelry making, clothing construction and woven loose can make some great scarves.
