This tunic was fun to design. You have so many options with how you want it to look. Shorten the sleeves, cowl or no cowl, longer or shorter.
Works up great using either #3 or #4 weight yarns
Written instructions for Small to 6X !

You can use a size H with #3 weight yarn OR size G with #4 weight yarn

I used 4 1/2 skeins for a size 3 of Loops & Threads Snuggly Wuggly #3 Light worsted yarn and a H hook on the blue one pictured.
I used 4 1/4 skeins for a size 2 of Red Heart Symphony #4 Medium Weight worsted yarn and a G hook on the black one.

You will need approximately:
Small - 1338 yards
Medium to 1X - 1784 yards
2X to 4X - 2230 yards
5X to 6X - 2676
Tapestry Needle to weave in all loose ends

Mayan Paddle Spindle Spinners

Paddle Spindles have been around for some time, yet very few spinners know about them.  They work from the park and draft method of spinning, making it easy on those of us that suffer from arthritis, carpal tunnel, fibromyalgia or tendonitis. 

The Mayan spindle is a great tool that takes up very little storage room, gives excellent control over the yarn as it is formed, and can be used in confined areas where a drop spindle does not have enough space to be effective.
The Mayan spinner comes in 2 pieces: the shaft and the paddle .

Turkish Drop Spindles

Hand Made Turkish Spindle made of oak, even the shaft is hand made in our shop.

You have a choice of a Notch at the top of the shaft or No Notch. Beginners usually prefer the notch at the top of the shaft to hook the leader and yarn to.

Turkish spindle make excellent beginners spindles because they are well balanced and easy to use. You do not have to have a lot of extras tools as this one will make a ball as you spin and wind on.

You can also use them as support spindles and spin short fibers such as cotton, camel, yak and cashmere's.


This Turkish Spindle weighs just about .75 oz (about 21 grams) and is great for spinning fine lace to sports weight yarns. .

Measures just about 6 1/2 inches.

Arm width is about 3 inches from point to point.

Since they are completely hand made one at a time, no two will ever be the same, each one is unique.


Each Spindle is hand sanded and coated with a non-toxic, chemical free Beeswax, Lavender Oil and Sweet Orange Oil.
