A Look Back into my Family

  Sam and Sarah Termine

both immigrated from Sicily from separate villages and met in New Orleans on a family strawberry farm owned by Sarah's father

"In all of us there is a hunger, marrow deep, to know our heritage - to know who we are and where we came from. Without this enriching knowledge, there is a hollow yearning. No matter what our attainments in life, there is still a vacuum, an emptiness, and the most disquieting loneliness." -- Alex Haley, Roots

"People will not look forward to posterity, who never look backwards to their ancestors."--  Edmund Burke

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010

Goodbye 2009

What a year, so much has come down hard on us this year and losses were plentiful.

We lost family members, pets, jobs and more.  It's been a tough one for sure.

But blessings are always just around the corner:

We have also had some great joys this year. We welcomed a new grandson, James Lee Potter, into our family this month.

Our trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan was wonderful and of course way too short. This is a picture of Eagle Harbor Lighthouse. I love this area and it's history.
We have been trying to relocate up there for the last two years, but the job and housing collapse is keeping us here until we find a buyer for our farm.

Ex Small Dog Cocoon Blanket

Dog or Cat Cocoon, Bag, Bed, Sleeping Bag, Blanket in Lavender Purple Pansy Colors

Buy it HERE

Pansy lilac and green hand knit doggy or kitty bag.

This one was made for smaller Toy Breed dogs like my miniature chihuahua, Buddy. He loves his own cocoon and wants to share the luxury with your cutie. These are thick, warm and cozy.

They work great as travel bags, giving your little one a sense of security where ever they go.

Measures 10 x 17 inches unstretched

I used Lion Brand acrylic and Patons Silverlash in polyester yarns so it is machine washable on cool and you can lay flat to dry or tumble dry on low.

I love auctions and the great antique and vintage finds that come up. I recently found this great item at an auction and just couldn't pass it up. It is a "Sanitary" Cheese Preserver. They were made in the 1930's to store your cheese without refrigeration. I did some searching on line and found a site that has actual test results on this, it really works. The directions are etched onto the lid. There is one listed on GoAntiques.com for $120.00 and two others on different sites listed for $85.00.
I'm listing this one for only $45.00 !
