Thanks to the great folks at Reviva Labs, I was sent their Non-Chemical Light Skin Peel to try on my tired mature skin.

I was amazed at the results after just one application. It only takes about 5 minutes for the treatment and I was so pleased with the smoother looking skin it left on my nose and around my checks.

I have always had problem with "face" products for most of my life. I have tried out hundreds of products from every department store around with the same results, breakouts. I thought maybe I just wasn't using the products correctly or once again I choose the wrong formula of that product for my skin type. What a great new twist on a product everyone needs. The Bryton Pick works great, is so easy to use and is convenient to carry around with you every day.
I worn braces when I was younger and I have a couple spots where my teeth are very close together, so close that the pressure from the tightness is not causing those teeth to break. I love the warmth and look of wood and the craftsmanship that goes into building special items. Sadly though, I have neglected several pieces I own up until now. Other polishing products I have used on them were too harsh and have left them looking tired and dry so I just didn't polish them, only dusted once and awhile.

I love Illuminare Cosmetics !

This is my first try at a liquid mineral makeup and I am very pleased with the outcome. It only takes a pea sized amount of foundation to do your whole face and with the application pad it is a breeze.

The foundation covered all my "red" spots and the result was a even skin tone all around.

I was just as pleased with the eye liner. In the past I have never had any luck using eye liners, so I just never used them. Not any more, the Beyond Black Everlasting Eyeliner was so easy to use once I watched the How To Video and I was able to apply it correctly the first time I tried.

The application tools are fantastic and make applying Illuminare Cosmetics very easy.

Pre-spray stains and spots with Household Traditions All Purpose Cleaner. Use 1-3 ounces in wash cycle. Heavily soiled or large loads: Pre-spray stains and spots. If especially greasy or soiled, allow to soak for at least 30 minutes or even overnight if necessary, then wash as normal. Works great for removing blood, grease, wax, dirt & oil!

Soot/Tar/Grease/Grills
Spray directly on surface and let sit for several minutes. Scrub with a brush and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Repeat if necessary.

Other Uses

The great people at Nutra-Luxe MD sent me one of their Nurtra Sonic Professional Cleansing System Kits to try out. I have been using it now for about 2 weeks and have notice how much softer my skin is getting.
The kit included 2 fl oz / 60 ml Botanical Cleanser and 2 fl oz / 60 ml Botanical Toner which leave my face tingling with cleanliness.
The Nurtra Sonic Face Brush does not rotate while cleaning, it pulsates, so it has been gentler on my face compared to other systems I've tried in the past. I don't feel like my skin is being pulled and scrubbed to death. It's very pleasant to use and really gets my face clean.
I have had no problems removing all my makeup and all the dirt from a day in the garden. Really refreshed me in the afternoon after a day of digging flower beds!

I love everything about snoozies! Spring may be on it's way, but not here yet. They are so cute and so comfortable to slip on every morning, our mornings are still very cold in Colorado.
The great folks at snoozies!® sent me a pair to try out and I have been enjoying them everyday. Not only are they very comfortable, they are really cute! I received a polka dot pair in bright cheerful colors.
The snoozies are great for lounging around, when I have time for that, and I love how thick they are.

I received the Light-Medium Neutral Foundation, Wisteria, Teal Beaches and Swiss Mocha Eye Shadows and the Cappuchino Lip Pot.

Sometimes "playing" with makeup can be so much fun.With a little experimenting with my samples, I have found that the foundation is the smoothest one I've tried. It's just amazing how smooth and even mineral makeup goes on and doesn't leave any lines, fingerprints or other makeup mistakes I've experienced in the past with other types of foundations.

As the years go by I reflect on how abusive I have been with my skin. I'm light hair with blue eyes and can't be out in the sun for more than 10 minutes without burning and failed so many times to apply skin protection products to slow down the damage of the sun and age.

I was thrilled when my Mom contacted me and told me that the Green Foods company had contacted her to do a review on their products. I was sent a few of the items to review including the Green Magma, the Magma Plus, True Vitality Vanilla, True Vitality Chocolate, Organic Chia, Barley Dog, and the Shaker for use with the products.

Before partaking in the review of these products I consulted my doctor, and I would recommend that anyone planning to implement any nutritional supplements into their diet do the same. All statements in this review are my opinion and how the products worked with my body. Results may not be the same for each person.

According to the website, Green Foods Corporation, founded by pharmacological researcher Yoshihide Hagiwara, M.D. in 1979 is an industry leader who is dedicated to improving human health and well-being. We learned this first hand with the company representative. The company was extremely generous in the products received for review and were concerned about my health. I was impressed that they took such concern over just one person! The company features nutritional supplements that in most cases are organic, vegan friendly, and gluten free.

Below, you will find my review for each product I received. There is a wealth of information (including all nutritional information, benefits, and testimonials) for the products and additional products not featured here, at the Green Foods website.

True Vitality (Vanilla and Chocolate)

These are my favorite of all the products I received! When I was first diagnosed with Diabetes, the nurse assigned to discuss my eating plan stressed the importance of eating all meals throughout the day to keep my blood levels stable. I have always struggled with breakfast. I have two beautiful daughters, and the mornings require that we all leave the house at the same time. It is often a rush to get us all ready and out the door. I would often skip breakfast just due to time. With the True Vitality products, I do not have to worry about skipping breakfast and I get an amazing assortment of nutrition that my body needs! Also, as one of the steps in my battle to restore my blood sugar levels, I had to drop weight. These shakes are great to help with that as they are low in calories and fat! I use them as part of my diet plan.

Green Foods developed the shake as in all in one meal replacement containing "VEGETARIAN PROTEIN, OMEGA-3'S, PROBIOTICS, ENZYMES, CARBOHYDRATES, GREENS, FIBER, AND 100% OF THE RDA OF ESSENTIAL DAILY VITAMINS." The shakes are so easy to use, you just mix them with 8-10 ounces of water (or you can use milk or juice if you prefer). My kit came with the shaker, which makes preparing them on the go a breeze! Also, I have found this product extremely easy to use at my desk at work. I tried the chocolate variety first, and it was not as sweet as I had expected. I added a small amount of Splenda to the shaker and it was perfect for me! Now that I have been using the product for almost two weeks, I have adjusted to the taste and can drink it plain (but I still prefer my Splenda!). For anyone who has ever used supplement shakes, you can relate that sometimes they do not blend easily and leave chunks in the liquid. This was not the case at all with True Vitality! I have never had a problem blending it and the texture is just perfect! Also, I do believe that the combination of this product and the Magma Plus has given me a huge dose of extra energy. I feel better than I have in a long time! I no longer come home and slump on the couch, I have the energy to complete projects after work and even spend some great family time outside when the weather is nice!

And the nutrition included in each shake is out of this world! I feel so good about what is going into my body. Here is a breakdown of what is included from the Green Foods website:

• Vegetarian Proteins: A balanced protein profile from pea, rice, hemp, barley, chlorella, and spriulina. Unlike animal protein, vegetarian proteins are highly digestible and low in saturated fats.

• Specially Formulated Enzymes: The proteolytic enzyme blend is a specially formulated blend of five different types of enzymes designed to aid in the complete digestion of the vegetarian proteins. The enzymes help to reduce the digestive load placed on the body from protein supplementation while providing the maximum nutrient availability for the recovery and rebuilding process.

• DHA from Algal Oil: The DHA (omega-3 fatty acid) found in True Vitality™ comes from algal oil. DHA is recommended by the American Heart Association and the USDA Dietary Guidelines for good cardiovascular health, and it also supports the brain, eye, and nervous system development and functioning.

• Digestive Health: A blend of prebiotics and probiotics work together to maintain healthy flora throughout the digestive tract. Prebiotic organic inulin assists the movement of food through the large intestine while helping to maintain healthy cholesterol and blood glucose levels.

• 8 Billion Active Probiotic Cells: These 8 billion probiotic cells, the most of any product in the market, helps to maintain healthy and beneficial intestinal flora in the small intestine. In addition, probiotic supplementation assists vitamin synthesis, enhances immunity, and promotes a healthy digestive tract.

My only con about the product is the price. The box of 7 shakes retails for $20.00 on the website, averaging about $2.86 per shake. You have the option of vanilla, chocolate, or unflavored. You can purchase it in the individual single packets or in a bulk tub (which is cheaper per serving). However, for the nutrition benefits received, I am reconsidering my budget to accommodate this product, I love it that much!

Magma Plus/Green Magma

Due to the similar nature of Magma Plus and Green Magma, I decided to only use one product at a time. I started with Magma Plus.

Magma Plus (also called the Ultimate Super Food on the website) contains a mixture of barley grass and other supplements.

There are a few ingredients in the Magma Plus that according to my physician may be linked to increased blood pressure. I was cleared to use the product but on the suggestion that it not be used daily, but on those days when I have not been my best at eating a variety of fruits and vegetables.

This product is also extremely easy to use. You simply mix it in a drink of your choice. According to the company, it is best used on an empty stomach and with cold liquids (as hot liquids can destroy the probiotic cultures).

At first I was mixing mine with my True Vitality Shake, but I began having stomach cramps. I think I was giving myself too many Probiotic Cultures at once!  So I have switched, to using the shake in the morning and the Magma Plus in the evening, and have not had an issue with cramping.

I love it and I truly credit the use of the True Vitality and the Magma Plus as the reason for my increase in energy and general feeling of well-being.

Organic Chia

The Organic Chia seeds are a source of Omega-3’s, protein, and fiber. According to the company, they are also used for diabetics as it was stated that the chia seeds form a protective coating around carbs making them harder to be absorbed into the blood stream. My doctor was unable to verify this claim, and with my blood tests during the use of this product I was unable to verify if this claim worked for me as well. However, the fact that they are a great source of Omega-3’s make this a worthy product!

To be honest, I struggled with these seeds at the beginning. It was suggested that they be added to liquid. I tried that, and it was not bad, but the texture was a little difficult for me. The seeds developed an almost gelatin like coating around each of them. Again, it was not bad, but not an easy swallow. Then I tried adding them to my Greek Yogurt. This is by far my favorite way of eating them! They give the yogurt a great crunch. Also, just a bit of advice, bring something to brush your teeth with or rinse with after. I found the seeds tend to linger, so a good rinse will get rid of all the stragglers. 

Barley Dog

The Barley Dog product is a product for canine companions made from barley grass. You know how you can often catch your dog eating grass? This product helps your furry friend get the nutrients they are seeking from eating grass without the throat and stomach irritation, not to mention any lawn chemicals, that comes with eating full grass blades. The product comes in a hickory smoke flavor for the dogs, and according to the company has many healthful benefits including:

• Provides active enzymes, vitamins C and E, beta-carotene, amino acids, chlorophyll, bioflavonoids and essential trace minerals.

• Regular use promotes healthy skin and coat, reduces bad breath, improves digestion and restores energy levels - especially among senior dogs.

Overall I have fallen in love with these products and have made them a part of my daily life (except the Barley Dog! lol). I am feeling better and have more energy, which I attribute to the use of these products. Smoking, what can I say. It is a dirty, disgusting, filthy habit. No, it's more than a habit, it's an addiction! One I suffer from.

Electronic Cigarettes have been around for several years, yet, I have just recently learned about them.
My husband and I have smoked for 30 years and have tried to quit at least once a year during those 30 years. One of the biggest reasons, the kids. Exposing them to second hand smoke is a big concern to me and now I we have been blessed through the last 10 years with 8, and counting, grand kids that I don't want to expose to my second hand smoke.

After a week of use, here is my list of Pro's and Con's:

*Unit is heavier and a bit thicker than a regular cigarette so it takes some getting used to.

Very few con's at this point. Using the unit did get more comfortable after using it for a few days, but it is heavy and thicker than a regular cigarette. As far as the flavor, it was very pleasant and I'm surprised at how much I like the flavor. After only two days of using the unit I found that I enjoyed the flavor of it over a regular cigarette.

The wonderful folks at Auric Blends sent me 4 of their wonderful solid perfumes to try.

The solid perfumes are available in 14 different fragrances and the perfume is carried in a base of beeswax and coconut oil. They are available for $8.50 each.

I just love these beautiful scents and the lovely carved containers they come in, they are so unique.

My favorite is the Kashmire Rose since it reminds me of the perfume my grandmother always used and her beautiful rose garden. It is really a soft wonderful scent of real roses, not like the commercial rose scent, that smells nothing like real roses, that I have experienced with other brands of perfume.

I was also sent the Black Coconut, White Gardenia and Dark Opium Solids, each one is just fantastic. They are subtle, but last a long time. Not one of them is over powering. That is a real pet peeve of mine, I don't want to smell your perfume when your 10 feet away!

We first were introduced to hazelwood necklaces just over two years ago. Eczema had overtaken the poor little body of our three month old and we had been trying in vain to help her. Shea Butter is a natural plant extract with exceptional moisturizing properties which comes from the karite or shea tree. The Shea tree, formerly Butryospermum paradoxum, is now called Vitellaria paradoxa. Tea Brewing Instructions for Green Tea

Our instructions are only general guidelines. For your ultimate enjoyment please experiment with the steeping time, water temperature, and the amount of tea leaves.

Basic Green Tea Brewing Instruction

   1. Measure the desired amount of tea leaves and place into a teapot or teacup. Use 2 - 3 tsp or 2.3g of green tea for every 8oz (1 cup) of water.
   2. Heat water until steam rises at 180oF (82oC).
   3. Add enough hot water to submerse the tea leaves and let it sit for a few seconds before pouring out the water. Warming the tea leaves and teaware allow for a better brew.
   4. Add hot water and let the tea leaves steep for 2 to 3 minutes.

      Note: Adding sugar or honey is optional.

Green Iced Tea Brewing Method

   1. To make iced tea, double the amount of tea leaves recommended on the basic tea brewing instructions.
   2. Follow the basic green tea brewing instruction to brew the tea.
   3. Place sugar or honey into a second teapot if desired. Pour the hot tea into the teapot and stir.
   4. Place ice in cups and pour the hot tea into it.
   5. Let the tea cool for a few minutes before drinking.

      Note: In general, the volume of ice added should equal the volume of water used to brew the tea.

My Grandmother had a Butter Bell that always fascinated me. I thought it was so pretty and loved how the butter stayed up on the lid and was always fresh and since it was left on the counter, not the fridge, the butter inside was always so easy to spread on your toast. Making toast at Grandma's was one of those favorite things for me to do as a child, she would set out the Butter Bell with a special plate just for me.

The kind folks at InterNatural.com sent me a bottle of the LifeTree Laundry Liquid to try out.

This is highly concentrated and you only need to use a tiny amount to get your clothes really clean and fresh.

I first used it on a load of smelly towels and they came out fantastic! I was very pleased with the cleaning power and I didn't notice any residue left on them. With my skin problems, I need a Laundry Liquid that rinses completely out and doesn't leave anything on my clothes that will irritate my skin.

Also, I love that this product is safe to use with our gray water system. Our home is on a septic as well as a gray water system and you always have to be very careful what products you use throughout the house. Everything must be safe for us and the systems, with LifeTree products I don't have to worry about any of it.

Nordic Ware has been part of my life since I can remember. My mother owned and still owns several Nordic Ware kitchenware, including the Bundt pan. The great folks at Nordic Ware sent me this great pan to try out.

This is high quality cookware and it puts up with the rough abuse my family throws at it. It's just the right weight that it does not easily slide around the top of the stove and it isn't so heavy it hurts my carpel tunnel wrists.

I love this 7 Quart Chefs' Pan, The label calls it a "WOK" but it is listed on Nordic Ware as the 7 Quart Chefs' Pan, what a great size at a great price. This one is big enough to handle the large portions when all the family gets together and makes whipping up some sauteed vegetables a breeze. Clean up is quick and easy also.

It is so deep, I can see how easy it would be to deep fry some donuts. My daughter wants to try making a funnel cake!

The pan is constructed with a Premium Non-stick surface, it is dishwasher safe and carries a 5 year warranty.

The great folks at Earth Friendly Products sent me some OXO BRITE Non-Chlorine Bleach to try out.
The number one reason I wanted to try it was that it is Septic tank and gray-water system safe. We have both and we always need to be very careful as to what products we use and how they will effect both the septic and gray water systems.

OXO BRITE works great and my towels came out bright and fresh. I didn't feel any left over residue and the towels look great. The second load I tried it on was my husband undershirts and socks, they came out much brighter and fresh smelling.

Along with our waste water systems, I have to be careful what I use on my clothes because of my skin problems. OXO BRITE is free of fragrance, enzymes, phosphates, chlorine, DEA and petroleum ingredients which make it a product I can use on my own clothes.

Tropical Traditions has some great products and the great folks there have sent me their dish liquid to try out. Once again, I am very pleased with Tropical Traditions and the product, The customer service is always fantastic and shipping time is so quick.

This dish liquid is the best I've used. I don't have to use that much to get all my dishes really clean. I really love that it rinses so well and doesn't leave any residue.

We live on a septic and gray water systems, our sinks and washer are hooked up to the gray water system. We have to be very careful what goes down our sinks and since Tropical Traditions Dish Liquid is free of fragrances, phosphates, petroleum solvents, chlorine and dyes it is safe for both our septic and gray water systems.

Also, since it is free of fragrances, phosphates, petroleum solvents, chlorine and dyes it is easy on my skin and my eczema doesn't flair up after I use it and my hands really don't feel as dry as before.

If your into making your own beauty products for yourself or for resell or just want some fantastic beauty products at very affordable prices, Coastal Scents is where to find them.

The great people at Coastal Scents sent me several products to try out from their great selection of ready to use beauty items and their supplies for making some of my own.

I am not into making my own mineral makeup at this point, but I have found it really isn't hard once you find a great supplier for your basic ingredients. Coastal Scents carries everything from the mineral mica to the little jars to put it all in.

I was sent a couple of sample bags of mica that I have used to tone down some mineral eye shadows I already had. It worked out great! I had too many browns that had a strong tint of yellow after tones in them and they looked horrible on my skin tone, so I wasn't using them and was ready to throw them out. With Coastal Scents supplies, I mixed in some darker brown mica into what I already had until I came out with the perfect colors for me. Just a small amount of mica completely changed the color. I now use those colors everyday.

I also picked out some lip pencils, I've tried lip pencils in the past and really didn't like the results. I was very pleased with these pencils and the colors are perfect. The color chart made it very easy to pick out which shades I wanted to try and match up with my existing lipsticks. These lip pencils are so easy to use, they glide right on and stay put. I found they were very easy to blend in with my lipsticks and the colors are beautiful.

Of Course, I couldn't pass up the Shea Butter!

Shea Butter Oil can be used as a base in several beauty products, but I wanted to try it all by itself. My skin just drinks it up and my eczema has been so much easier to control. I make up goat milk soap once a year and I am going to save some of this Shea Butter Oil to add to batch. This will be my own personal "special" soap, just for ME !
